Lucky escape for Burnham-On-Sea driver as
his car ends up in ditch
A
Burnham-On-Sea motorist had a lucky escape after the car he was
driving careered off a country lane into a ditch on Wednesday,
December 21st.
The
fire service, paramedics and police rushed to Stoddens Lane at
5.50pm after receiving an emergency call regarding the accident.
"Fortunately,
the fire service managed to free the man from his car with just
minor cuts and bruises," a spokesman from Avon and Somerset
Constabulary told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The
man was taken by ambulance to Weston General Hospital for checking
over, but was otherwise unharmed.
The
incident caused disruption to traffic in the area, with Stoddens
Lane being closed from
6pm until around 8.45pm.
Commuters
using rail services past the scene reported seeing many blue lights
flashing in the darkness.
