Police and fire teams rush to two-car accident
at Edithmead
Police
and fire-fighters rushed to Edithmead, near Burnham-On-Sea, late
on Wednesday night, January 25th, after two vehicles collided.
The
B3140 road into Burnham-On-Sea from the M5 motorway was closed
from around 10.30pm until midnight while emergency teams dealt
with the incident.
Avon
and Somerset Police spokesman Dan Mountain told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"Two cars were involved in the accident just off the Edithmead
roundabout. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries to anyone
involved."
One eyewitness who saw the scene said: "One car had its front
smashed in and another had crashed off the road in to the trees
just off the motorway roundabout near the lay-by."
"The
car in the trees was very badly damaged all down the drivers side.
It had been smashed in to almost the passengers seats."
It
is the third serious crash in the area in the last few weeks,
with two others occuring during December.
