Police swoop on Burnham-On-Sea home in 'drugs
bust'
A
man was arrested after police swooped on a building in Abingdon
Street, Burnham-On-Sea this week in what local residents say was
'a drugs bust'.
A
police spokesman confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com that "a
quantity of a suspicious substance was taken away for analysis"
and that a male was taken into custody before being later bailed.
Eyewitnesses
said the raid involved up to 10 police officers with sniffer dogs.
"Two
police vans pulled up in the middle of the street with between
8 and 10 police officers - many of whom were wearing helmets and
flack jackets," said one local resident.
"We
saw they had sniffer dogs and were carrying a ladder - presumably
to gain access to various parts of the building."
Another
eyewitness, who asked not to be named, said: "A friend who
runs a nearby business said she'd had no doubt that it was a drugs
bust."
