Pubs
warn trouble makers to stay away from Burnham
and Highbridge
Pub
bosses in Burnham and Highbridge have warned
trouble makers to stay away this Christmas or face being banned
from all premises in the towns.
Burnham
and Highbridge Pubwatch has seen 31 licensed premises come together
to work with police and the local licensing authority to make
a night out in the towns a safer experience.
Around
80 people are currently banned from all the premises for being
involved in drink related trouble or violence and the message
is to behave or face a very quiet Christmas and New Year period.
Burnham-On-Sea
Town Centre Team PC Martin Childs told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We
want everyone to have a good time this Christmas, but not to step
over the mark and ruin the pleasure of many more hundreds of people."
"Burnham
and Highbridge Pubwatch has been very successful in working in
partnership with the police and a night out in both towns is a
safer experience as a result."
"However,
if people do cause trouble, they face being banned from every
other licensed premises in both towns."
"The
strong relationship Pubwatch has built up means incidents of drink
related violence and trouble are thankfully rare we want
to keep it that way."
