Burnham-On-Sea
lifeboat station appeals for new volunteers

Burnham-On-Sea
lifeboat station has appealed for new volunteer crew members,
shore helpers and tractor drivers to come foward.
The
station urgently requires crew and a tractor driver who must be
available in the daytime.
Experience
is not essential since full RNLI training will be given to all
those who are accepted. Volunteers can be male or female.
To
come foward, call in at the RNLI Lifeboat Station behind Somerfields
supermarket any Wednesday night between 7 and 9pm or any Sunday
morning between 9 and 12 noon. Alternatively, call Lifeboat Operations
Manager Martin Cox on 01278 781249.
One
volunteer who joined during the station's last recruitment drive
is Ian Jefferies (pictured) who is now a fully trained tractor
driver.
Ian
said: "Being involved with the RNLI gives me a sense of achievement.
There is a good team spirit at Burnham, and the tractor driving
can be exciting."
Applicants
will need to either live or work within 10 minutes travelling
time from the Lifeboat Station.
