£1,500 DONATION FROM PAPER (November 30, 2004)
The Western Daily Press newspaper has donated money, as part of the Lelaina rescue appeal, to Burnham-On-Sea RNLI. It has handed over a cheque for £1,500 to the group. Full details here.

LAST OPEN DAY BEFORE XMAS (November 28, 2004)
On the morning of Saturday December 4th, the Burnham-On-Sea RNLI Supporters Group will be opening up the RNLI station to local residents for the last time before Christmas. Full details here.

PUPILS VISIT BURNHAM RNLI (November 24, 2004)
Ten pupils from Edington and Shapwick Senior School, near Glastonbury, have visited Burnham RNLI as part of a school project and handed over a cheque for £60. Full details here.

JET SKI RESCUE EXERCISE (November 21, 2004)
Burnham-On-Sea RNLI have practised the rescue of a stranded jet ski rider in the Bristol Channel as part of a training exercise involving several crew members. Full details here.

ASDA IN REFRESHING VISIT (November 14, 2004)
Supermarket group Asda has sent free provisions to Burnham-On-Sea's lifeboat cew following a successful promotion at the foot of the town's jetty earlier this year. Full details here.

£150 RAISED FROM OPEN DAYS (November 8, 2004)
More than £150 was raised for Burnham-On-Sea RNLI following the first of a series of open days at the station. The Supporters' Group opened the station in Pier Street. Full details here.

PUDDLE HELPS RAISE FUNDS! (October 30, 2004)
After Johnny Cash, a holidaymaker at Brean, slipped and fell into a puddle, his pals joked that they should call out the RNLI. This led to a fundraising effort for the RNLI. Full details here.

FIRE AWARENESS TRAINING (October 25, 2004)
RNLI lifeboat crew and shore helpers at Burnham-On-Sea recently took part in fire awareness and first aid training in a short course designed for the RNLI’s specific needs. Full details here.

STATION OPENS TO VISITORS (October 19, 2004)

COASTGUARD EXERCISE (September 29, 2004)
Both of Burnham-On-Sea RNLI's lifeboats took part in a joint exercise with Weston-super-Mare RNLI and the Coastguard at Brean Down on Wednesday, September 29. Full details here.

NET LANDING PRACTICE FOR RNLI (September 26, 2004)
Burnham RNLI have been practising how to return their Atlantic 75 lifeboat to shore during a storm. A rope net on the launch trailer was used to catch the lifeboat. Full details here.

YACHT CLUB LAUNCH EXERCISE (September 17, 2004)
Burnham RNLI launched its Atlantic 75 lifeboat from an alternative location in the town this week, practicising how to launch the craft if the main slipway were blocked. Full details here.

Burnham-On-Sea RNLI's lifeboat was prevented from returning to its station by motorists' careless parking in the road outside the station.The lifeboat's trailer became stuck. Full details here.

ON DUTY AT RAFT RACE (August 8, 2004)
Burnham-On-Sea's number one lifeboat was launched at 11:30am on August 8th to assist with the provision of safety boat cover at the annnual Minehead Sea Raft Race. Full details here.

Alan Miller, a Burnham-On-Sea RNLI tractor driver and chairman of the BARB hovercraft rescue service, is being hailed as a hero after tackling a teenager who was wielding a sword. Full details here.
