Were they imagining things? Had the driver got lost? Was this a new method for carrying out deliveries? Well, actually, it was none of these. The supermarket chain is building a new store opposite the RNLI HQ in Poole, and both the RNLI and Asda representatives are keen to develop a working relationship to help with fundraising and raising awareness of the RNLI's work. There is also a company-wide theme of displaying photographs of Asda lorries in unusual locations. Since the RNLI has only recently returned to Burnham-On-Sea, John Baber, Fleet Manager from the Bristol depot, suggested a photo shoot on the town's jetty alongside Burnham's lifeboat, the Staines Whitfield. The promotional photograph was taken during a regular training session to avoid wasting RNLI resources, and the final photographs will be displayed in various Asda establishments across the country.
