Lifeboats
in Burnham-On-Sea benefit from £500 bingo fundraiser

It
was eyes down for a full house when regulars at the Orchard Inn
in West Huntspill held a fundraising bingo event for Burnham-On-Sea
RNLI.
A
total of £500 was raised at the popular event and raffle,
which were held on Thursday April 20th. The pub has chosen Burnham's
lifeboats to be one of its three supported charities during 2006.
Businesses
throughout Highbridge and Burnham donated prizes and the successful
evening, backed up by a charity auction, raised a superb amount.
Our
photo shows the volunteer organisers at the end of the evening,
including Mike Hodge (RNLI), Ron Fisher (RNLI), Mike Hookway (RNLI),
LOM Martin Cox (RNLI), bingo caller/compere Brian Ducker, Norman
Templeman (RNLI), with Landlord and Landlady Barrie and Sue Prickett.
Sue
Prickett said: "It was a really good evening, made even better
by the excellent bingo calling and auctioneer skills of Brian
Ducker. People enjoyed themselves."
Brian
Prickett added: "We are grateful for the community spirit
of those businesses and individuals who donated prizes, without
which this evening might not have been possible."
