Walkers
stride out for charity to raise £1,000 for Burnham
lifeboats

A
group of generous pub regulars from Bristol put their best feet
forward in the name of charity when they raised almost £1,000
for Burnham-On-Sea RNLI from a sponsored walk from to Brean.
Asa
Davies and other regular customers of the Engineers Arms from
Bedminster in Bristol were recently bussed to Burnham-On-Sea so
that they could undertake the walk from the town's lifeboat shop
to Brean's Beachcomber Inn.
The dedicated team collected £418 from pubs along the way
and realised over £500 in sponsorship money.
This
week, Asa handed over the sponsorship money to Burnham RNLI's
treasurer, Jan Pearce, outside the seafront shop.
Asa,
who is a member of Bristols RAOB, said: "We have raised
nearly £1,000 and are very pleased. Thanks are also due
to First Bus who transported us to and from Burnham-On-Sea."
RNLI
fundraiser Jan Peace added: "We are delighted to receive
the donation, which will go a long way towards kitting out one
RNLI crew member."
