Burnham-On-Sea lifeboat station holds fundraising car wash event

Motorists in Burnham-On-Sea will be able to get their cars washed by the town's lifeboat crew this weekend... and raise money for the RNLI at the same time.

Burnham-On-Sea lifeboat station in Pier Street is taking part in the RNLI's nationwide fundraising day, called SOS Day - or 'Soap Our Saloons'.

The event will be held at the station throughout Saturday January 31st and then again on Saturday 7th February.

Burnham lifeboat spokesman Mike Lang told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "This is an ideal way to support the RNLI, and supporters can hold other fund-raising events any time between now and Friday 30th January."

Supporters are being encouraged to think up activities themselves to help raise money - with the theme of SOS. Other ideas so far include 'Sizzle Our Sausages', 'Sound Or Silence' for a concert or sponsored silence, and 'Save our Soles' for a school's non-uniform day.
