Burnham-On-Sea
RNLI station appeals for new crew
Burnham-On-Sea
RNLI lifeboat station is looking for new recruits to join its
shore crew.
The
volunteers need to have some spare time and want to put something
back into their community, to help launch Burnham's two lifeboats.
All
that is needed is basic common sense, and everything else, including
training and protective clothing, is provided by the RNLI. Volunteers
may be male or female, and should attend the lifeboat station
any Wednesday night at 7.30pm.
Lifeboat
Operations Manager Ricky Holmes says: "All we need is commitment
towards the regular training, and availability for some of the
callouts."
Visiting
RNLI first aid trainer Steve Ford added: "On the subject
of training, we have just completed a comprehensive first aid
training course for 19 Burnham lifeboat volunteers, including
four shore team members."
