David was shown around the station by Lifeboat Operations Manager Martin Cox and took the controls of the Staines Whitfield, Burnham’s lead lifeboat, with Helmsman Scott Rundle.
David said: "I was delighted to see the superb equipment and professionalism of the crew. All visitors to Burnham can be sure of a totally safe holiday with the tremendous backup from the RNLI volunteers." the day, he attended the annual meeting of BARB, the group that runs
Burnham's hovercraft, where he praised the dedication of rescue services

Rt Hon David Heathcoat-Amory visited Burnham-On-Sea on Friday afternoon
and took time out from his busy schedule to take part in a tour of the
town's RNLI station.
