FIDDINGTON resident Belinda Llewelyn-Jones has handed over a total of £5,800 to Burnham-On-Sea RNLI Lifeboat station after completing the London Marathon in five hours and three minutes. Belinda raised almost half the money online

LIFEBOAT RETURNS TO TOWN

BURNHAM-On-Sea's Atlantic 75 lifeboat, the 'Staines Whitfield', has returned to the town's lifeboat station after a five-month re-fit at the lifeboat repair centre on the Isle of Wight.

BOTH Burnham-On-Sea lifeboats were called out to assist the Royal Navy Bomb Disposal Team detonate a huge wartime bomb that was found by a fisherman on Stert Island. A helicopter exercise was also held on Sunday. Full details

Burnham-On-Sea's Staines Whitfield lifeboat helped a jet skier in difficulties and a yacht in trouble in two separate incidents on Sunday morning, May 20th. The lifeboat was out on training at the time and was called on at 9.30am and 10am. Full details

SECOND LAUNCH IN A WEEK FOR PUFFIN

Burnham-On-Sea's D-Class lifeboat was launched on Friday morning, May 18th, for the second time in a week after a walker reported that a person was in the sea.The Puffin lifeboat was launched from the jetty at around 9.00am. Full details
