The Staines Whitfield lifeboat, with four crew onboard, launched from Burnham-On-Sea's beach at 11.20am on Sunday November 21 and was tasked with finding a jet ski suffering mechanical problems on the western side of Stert Island.
As part of the hour-long exercise, the crew also conducted a search and rescue for a 'casualty' between Burnham jetty and the mouth of the River Parrett who had reportedly jumped off the jet ski and drifted upstream in the incoming tide. The 'casualty' was also back brought to shore. Our photographs show the 'stranded' jet ski being returned to shore after the exercise and the crew of the Staines Whitfield landing near the jetty.
