Marathon runner raises £5,800 for Burnham lifeboat station

Fiddington resident Belinda Llewelyn-Jones has just handed over a total of £5,800 to Burnham-On-Sea RNLI Lifeboat station after completing the London Marathon in five hours and three minutes.

Belinda, who served in the merchant Navy for four years as a catering officer, raised approximately half the money online and the rest from direct sponsorship donations.

Belinda, who’s husband is a captain in the merchant navy, said: "The first 20 miles of the run were fine, but the last six were extremely hard."

Lifeboat Operations manager Ricky Holmes added: "The money will be used to support Burnham Lifeboat station. We thank you for this gift."
