The money was raised from the proceeds of a raffle and a donation of £100 following a recent ladies night event.

Burnham-On-Sea resident and Lodge member Alun Bayliss said: "I have a great belief in supporting local causes, saw the new RNLI station developing, and wanted to help in some way."

Burnham-On-Sea RNLI station Chairman, Tony Winterburn replied: "I am pleased to accept this money on behalf of the RNLI which, coincidentally, is exactly the amount that it costs to kit out one lifeboat crew member."
