Burnham
RNLI Open Days raise more than £150
More
than £150 was raised for Burnham-On-Sea RNLI following the
first two of a series of open days at the station.
The
Burnham RNLI Supporters' Group opened the station in Pier Street
on
Sunday
October 24th and Sunday October 31st
- and took over £150 from donations and the sale of lifeboat
souvenirs.
Visitors,
who included the Thomas family from Burnham (pictured), were able
to get a close-up look at the two lifeboats and also talk to crew
members about
the life-saving service.
Supporters'
Group spokesperson Jendy Weekes said: "It's been a successful
couple of days and we look forward to seeing more visitors during
the next few weekends."
She added: "We're offering a superb selection of souvenirs,
greetings cards and gifts that not only make ideal Christmas presents,
but also help to raise much-needed funds for the RNLI."
Anyone
