Burnham-On-Sea
RNLI welcomes back Puffin lifeboat
Burnham-On-Sea
RNLI station has welcomed back Puffin, its D-Class lifeboat, to
the station.
After
a scheduled refit lasting several months, the lifeboat finally
returned to active service today (July 18th) at its home lifeboat
station.
Where
lives are concerned there can be no compromise, so during the
boats visit to the RNLI lifeboat repair centre, all equipment
was removed, the hull stripped, engine thoroughly serviced, and
all worn parts were replaced, or serviced.
Puffin
has effectively been returned to Burnham in the same condition
as she was when brand new.
Helmsman
and mechanic Nick Prout, whose allocated duty it is to oversee
the maintenance of Puffin, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We are
glad to see her back, we have missed her."
Nick
is picrtured above looking over the stern of Puffin.
