Stranded
kite surfer rescued by Burnham-On-Sea lifeboat crew

A
kite surfer who got into trouble in high winds near Stert Island
was rescued by Burnham-On-Sea's lifeboat crew on Wednesday evening
(August 15th).
The
D-Class lifeboat 'Puffin' was already out on training in Bridgwater
Bay when its crew of three were alerted to the kiter in difficulties.
The
lifeboat quickly made its way to scene, near the entrance to the
River Brue, to lift the man and his kite surfing equipment onboard
before taking him back to the safety of Burnham beach.
Once
onshore, kiter Nick Luget, pictured, explained: "My kite
had turned itself inside out in the strong winds, leaving me in
the water."
"Fortunately,
another kiter on the shore raised the alarm and I'm grateful to
the lifeboat crew for quickly coming to my aid."
Our
photos show the Burnham-On-Sea lifeboat crew returning the kite
surfer safely to shore.
