Busy
evening for Burnham RNLI lifeboat crew
Burnham-On-Sea's
lifeboat crew had a busy evening on Tuesday (July 31st) when they
helped this speedboat after its engine failed and also responded
to a call requesting help to retrieve a dog in difficulties.
The
Burnham-On-Sea's D-Class lifeboat was called to the speedboat
while the crew were out on training in Bridgwater Bay. The lifeboat
towed the stricken boat back to the town's jetty where it received
some repairs.
Minutes
later, the crew were also called to help a dog which had been
chasing birds in the River Parrett estuary near the town's Sailing
Club when it had got swept downstream on the falling tide.
Several
Sailing Club boats also tried to help the animal, as pictured
here, but the spaniel eventually scrambled out of the water by
itself.
