The 60 youngsters and staff heard about the lifeboats and special launching tractors, and were also shown some of the station's life-saving clothing and equipment, as pictured.
They also heard about the fascinating history of lifeboats in Burnham and were given a guided tour of the station by crew members.
Shirley Vickery-Mills, a representative of the school, said: "The children found the visit interesting and 'wicked!'" As an extra bonus, the children also had a chance to visit Burnham-On-Sea's hovercraft station. RELATED LINKS:
