RNLI skittles weekend is hailed a big hit!
Burnham-On-Sea
RNLI's skittles weekend has been hailed a success after raising
several hundred pounds for the group.
Hosted
by Highbridge Social Club and co-organised by charity fundraiser
Miki Tilley, the event on October 22nd and 23rd was won by Garry
Marsden who was delighted to pick up his £200 cash prize.
Miki
said: "I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and wish to thank
Highbridge Social Club for their excellent hospitality, the Burnham
RNLI lifeboat station members who helped, Burnham Excellent Entertainment
Society for the loan of a rotating raffle ticket drum, and everybody
who took part."
She
also thanked the many people and businesses who donated raffle
prizes, including Norman Templeman (RNLI co-organiser), Highbridge
Social Club, The Saagar takeway at Burnham-On-Sea, Animal Farm
Adventure Park, Moores Fish and Chip shop, Highbridge Tandouri,
Mike Hodge, Harry Parkes, Highbridge News, and Margaret Hancock.
Lifeboat
press Officer Mike Lang added: "Garry put a lot of effort
into winning and the competition was very fierce."
The
picture above shows Norman Templeman (RNLI), winner Garry Marsden,
with Organiser Miki Tilley and Harry Symis (Highbridge Social
Club). Norman is holding the money, and Miki is handing over a
trophy to Garry.
