Burnham RNLI hits the BBC Somerset Sound airwaves

The RNLI is being featured on BBC Somerset Sound's Morning Show next week.

Alex, their interviewer, came to the town's station on Wednesday (April 6) to interview tractor driver Ricky Holmes and helmsman Nick Prout.

During the taped interview, Alex also recorded the sound effects of a typical callout, including a pager going off, the starting up of a tractor engine, and the revving of a lifeboat's engines just before launch from the beach.

Both Nick and Ricky talked about their experiences as lifeboat crew and shore team members, and also explained key sea safety messages.

Excerpts from the interview can be heard on BBC Somerset Sound's Morning Show throughout next week. The schedule is as follows:
