Visitors will be able to examine the lifeboats and sophisticated launching equipment, albeit from a respectable distance, but should keep in mind that they are ready for instant use in the event of an emergency. Visitors will also be able to purchase lifeboat souvenirs. Lifeboat Press Officer Mike Lang said: "The lifeboat station is part of the community, and manned by volunteers. "By
opening up the station to visitors we are able to remind the public
about the training and professionalism of all RNLI lifeboat crews and
shore staff." up the town's lifeboat station to visitors during October, November
and December.
