lifeboat crewmembers complete training course
Three
volunteer crewmembers from Burnham lifeboat station have just
returned from an inshore lifeboat training course in Dorset.
The
trio - Simon
Hart, Helen Verrall and Kate Davies - visited
the RNLI's training facilities in Poole to complete the course.
Among
the topics covered were boat handling, navigation, seamanship,
and they also took part in a supervised capsize drill in a training
pool.
Burnham
RNLI's Mike Lang said: "The lifeboat college's training is
reputed to be the best in the world, and our volunteer crewmembers
found it to be intensive but extremely valuable. During the course,
Kate also experienced helming one of the new Atlantic 85 lifeboats."
