Sands exercise for Burnham-On-Sea RNLI crew
Burnham-On-Sea
RNLI's Staines Whitfield lifeboat was launched at 09:20hrs on Sunday
April 24 to take part in a joint exercise with Minehead and Weston-Super-Mare
RNLI lifeboats at Culver Sands in the Bristol Channel.
The theme of the exercise was rough-water boathandling and involved
four crew from Burnham.
The sea
state was approximately 3 feet of swell, and winds North-Easterly, force
3-4 beaufort wind scale.
Helmsman Nick Prout said: "The exercise gave us useful experience
in working together with other lifeboats."
