Burnham-On-Sea
lifeboat launched amid concern for 'windsurfer'

A
Burnham-On-Sea lifeboat crew was called out on Sunday afternoon
(March 8th) after a sighting of a possible windsurfer in difficulty
in Bridgwater Bay.
The
Staines Whitfield lifeboat was launched at 4.15pm in choppy seas,
as pictured above, to investigate, but nothing was found and the
object was later judged to have been a navigation buoy.
"The
incident was a false alarm with good intent," a Coastguard
spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The
lifeboat was recovered from the beach besides Burnham yacht club,
as pictured, due to the stormy sea conditions.
