Plenty of interest for Royal Clarence Hotel
as it goes on sale at £595,000
A
well-known seafront hotel in Burnham-On-Sea that went on sale
this week has
already attracted interest from several potential buyers.
The
Royal Clarence Hotel at 31, The Esplanade is up for sale at £595,000
with Garry Berryman estate agents.
Speaking
to Burnham-On-Sea.com, a spokesman for the agent, said: "We've
already had a good deal of interest in this property and one viewing,
even though it's still early days as the property has only recently
gone on sale."
The
freehold of the 15-bedroom hotel is on offer and includes a restaurant
seating up to 40, a main bar and games area licensed for 200,
a skittles alley, two self-contained two bedroom apartments and
separate owner's accommodation.
Existing
owner Sheena Neilson told Burnham-On-Sea.com that she's "had
enough of the early mornings, late nights and the need to live
on the premises."
"We
also own the lease for the Fun Pub and are likely to keep that
- but we'd like to move back to Highbridge," she said.
The
Royal Clarence Hotel is one of Burnham's oldest seafront buildings
with a long history.
It
was run for many years by the Davey family, and Cllr Dennis Davey
is now Burnham's Deputy Mayor.
The
hotel was also the birthplace of the RCH Brewery, which is now
based in Hewish.
