Big expansion for Burnham-On-Sea
Sailing Club pontoons

The
number of berths at Burnham-On-Sea Sailing Club's pontoons in
the River Brue is to be almost doubled.
Increased
demand for extra moorings at the site means a £2,000 expansion
of the facility is going ahead over the next few weeks.
A
barge will deliver two huge metal pylons during the next fortnight
which will act as the supports for the new pontoons. Once the
structure is complete, up to ten additional boats will be able
to moor there.
Sailing
Club President Tony Winterburn told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "There's
plenty of demand for extra berths."
"So
we're having the new pontoons installed over the next few weeks.
These will enable between eight and ten extra boats to moor up."
The
expansion could lead to additional sea traffic using Bridgwater
Bay, which can only be good news for Burnham-On-Sea.
