First look at Burnham-On-Sea's new seafront
illuminations
Walkers
along Burnham's seafront had a first look at the town's new illuminations
last night.
The
colourful blue and white lights are not due to be officially switched
on until July 20, but electricians installing them have been testing
them out, giving walkers a chance to catch an early glimpse of
them.
Visitors
to Burnham-On-Sea.com's Webcam
will be able to watch the official switch-on live at 8.30pm on
July 20th.
A
total of 27 lights will be switched on between the Reed's Arms
and St Andrew's Church.
And
a further 15 lights between the town's jetty and Yacht Club will
be switched on at a later date.
A
"very well-known Somerset character who is no stranger to
camera flash bulbs" is due to turn on the lights on July
20th, according to Cllr Neville Jones who is organising the event.
Cllr
Jones confirmed that the lights will be in place until after Christmas
and that they will be illuminated each night at dusk until approximately
12 midnight.
