The cracks near the Bay View cafe (pictured) are singled out as being particularly dangerous by contributors to Burnham-On-Sea.com's discussion forum. "The cracks have been patched up in the past with concrete, but this has now worn away in several spots and they are now an inch or so wide in several places and could well be deemed as trip hazards," claims Sarah Jones. She is calling on councillors to look into the issue before it gets worse, adding: "I hope the problem is being watched by councillors and will be addressed before long - or a hefty compensation claim could well be made."
"The
tarmac has slumped so much in one spot that it is crumbling into pieces
- not a great advert for Burnham and a further hazard for anyone with
clumsy feet,"

Cracks
in Burnham's seafront pavements pose a hazard to walkers and could lead
to claims for accident compensation, according to local residents.
The
crumbling state of the seafront pavement at the southern end of The
Esplanade, opposite Burnham's Yacht Club, is also highlighted - as pictured
on the right.
