Snow
sweeps into Burnham-On-Sea - Full Photo Round-Up

Burnham-On-Sea
got its heaviest fall of snow for several years on Thursday afternoon,
December 29th, when the town was blanketed with a covering of
the white stuff.
Several
hours of wintry weather left the town under 2cm of snow - and
even the beach turned white.
Police
warned motorists to only drive if necessary, with all roads in
the town reported to have been affected. "People should take
a great deal of care when travelling," said a police spokesman.
Shops
in Burnham's High Street were particularly quiet during the afternoon
as shoppers stayed at home, while Burnham-On-Sea's Webcam
was considerably busier than normal with thousands of visitors
watching the wintry scenes.
More
snow fell during the evening and this was followed by sleet and
rain as milder weather arrived. By the following morning all the
snow had melted away.
