Burnham-On-Sea's Tourist Information Centre has won a top award for its excellent service to tourists and visitors.
The mystery shopper contacted the office by email, asking for a quick and detailed response to a general query about places to visit and places to stay in the area. Cindy Tee, Visitor Services Manager, said: "We know that the way many of our customers contact us has changed over the past few years and we see email as an important tool when promoting Sedgemoor as a tourist destination. The staff at the office work hard to maintain a high standard of service in which ever format they use." The mystery shopper campaign took place during August last year and the results have only just been released. All of the Tourist Information Centres in England were approached and they then received marks for different aspects of the email service they provided. These were
then placed into a table of marks, offering a snap-shot of the service
provided by the national tourist information network as well as the
