101-year-old veteran was among the visitors at Berrow Remembrance exhibition

-

101 year-old war veteran Tom Slater was among the visitors at a special Remembrance exhibition and event in Berrow at the weekend.

Hundreds of people attended the Berrow Village Hall for the day of commemorations on Saturday 10th November to mark the 100th anniversary of WW1.

There were displays of local memorabilia set up around the hall with a rolling film depicting the history of the war.

And in the afternoon there were performances by Stage 2 Drama Group, Chalice Morris Men, Coastline Singers and Amanda Ham.

Robert Parker, Chairman of the organising group, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a very successful day. We had lots of positive feedback and thank everyone who came along.”

“It was a great honour to welcome 101-year-old Tom Slater to our event, who was very interested in the memorabilia we had on show.”
