Over 30 darts players took part in a 12-hour Highbridge darts marathon over the weekend, raising thousands of pounds for charity.
Highbridge darts enthusiast Dave Williams hosted the second annual event on Saturday 15th August, drawing in 35 players throughout the day and raising an incredible £5,300 for Macmillan Cancer Support, beating last year’s total of £3,200.
The challenge saw the players aiming to score 100,000 darts points over the 12 hours — and in fact they scored 220,000 points with 28 180-maximums.
The fundraising event was personal for Dave who said it had been a “fantastic” day, adding: “We’ve had cancer in the family, so this was an important opportunity to give back to a cause close to our hearts.”
“We had players travel from as far afield as Swindon and Portsmouth, so a big thank you goes to them and everyone who supported us with donations and support through the day!”
