Scores of local people attended Brent Knoll animal centre’s two-day cattery open event and pop‑up charity stalls over the weekend.
The event raised £2,000 for the RSPCA’s North Somerset branch, which runs the Brent Knoll centre.
It was held on Saturday 25th April and Sunday 26th April, giving visitors a chance to meet cats currently looking for new homes and support the charity’s work.
A spokesperson says: “We were pleased to welcome along many families and supporters to meet our resident cats looking for a new home and browse the bargains on offer on our stalls. Our thanks go to all who supported us.”
A further event is planned for June 6th and 7th.
The North Somerset branch is a separate registered charity from the national RSPCA and relies heavily on support from the local community. Its work includes caring for animals awaiting rehoming and ensuring they receive the help they need in the area.
