£2,000 raised for Macmillan Cancer Support during emotional head shave

-

A huge £2,000 was raised for charity in 15 minutes during an emotional head shave at the weekend.

Burnham-On-Sea barber Mike Lowe and ‘Big Tony’ from Lowe’s Barber Shop did the honours, shaving the hair off Helen Sellick and her daughter Amy.

They ‘braved the shave’ for a member of the family during the weekend’s Somerset Cider Rally on Sunday evening (May 5th).

Patsy Coles from the Bridgwater Harley Owners Group said: “It was very emotional and incredible to have raised just over £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support within 15 minutes.”

“Members of the Bridgwater Chapter and all the other chapters that attended the rally certainly dug deep into their pockets. Thanks also go to Mike and Tony for all their support.”

Mike Lowe said: “We were more than happy to offer our services towards this great cause and we congratulate the ladies on such an amazing fundraising effort and for being so brave.”
