Motorists in Highbridge face evening and overnight disruption this week when a stretch of the A38 Bristol Road is closed for essential resurfacing works, says Somerset Council.
The work started on April 27th and runs to May 8th, with the road shut each evening from 6pm through to 7.30am the following morning. No works will take place at weekends or on the early May bank holiday.

The council says the repairs are necessary following deterioration to the road surface over the winter and early spring on and around the roundabout leading onto Bennett Road.
Contractors will be carrying out full resurfacing to improve safety and prolong the life of the route.

Access for residents and businesses within the closure area will be maintained where possible, with staff on site to assist. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted throughout the works period.
Somerset Council is advising drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys while the overnight closures are in place.
