Cllr Alan Ham, County Councillor for the Brent area, has this week handed over a cheque to the Brent Knoll Parish Hall Management Committee to assist with their purchase of new tables at the hall.

As we recently reported, these grants are part of the annual £5,000 sum granted to all Somerset County Councillors to assist with community initiatives in their area.

Cllr Ham said: “I have been enormously impressed with the work carried out by the Brent Knoll Parish Hall Management Committee in their ambitious project to increase the size and facilities of the parish hall.”

“It is a pleasure to assist in some small ways with this prestigious village hall. Village halls are an essential part of modern village life and I pay tribute to those dedicated committee members who make such tremendous efforts to ensure that the Brent Knoll community has facilities available for meetings, clubs and societies and social events.”

Cllr Ham is pictured presenting the cheque to John Page, Parish Hall Treasurer, and Bob Filmer (centre), Parish Hall Chairman.
