A Burnham-On-Sea woman has appeared before magistrates on charges that she failed to provide a suitable environment for animals in her home.

Jennifer Parnell, 67, of The Esplanade appeared before magistrates on two counts of not providing sufficient veterinary care for two dogs, failing to provide them with a suitable environment, failing to provide a dog and four kittens with a suitable environment, and not providing veterinary care for them.

All animals in her possession are to be taken into the possession of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).

She has also be asked to pay £500 costs and has been banned from owning dogs and cats for ten years.
