The driver of this Audi got into a ‘sticky situation’ when his vehicle got stuck in beach mud at Brean over the weekend.

The motorist, who was on holiday from Birmingham, drove a half mile down the beach when his car’s wheels sank into the mud at 5.30pm on Saturday.

Brean’s beach warden spotted the motorist in trouble, with an incoming tide approaching, and a local farmer was quickly contacted to help.

“The farmer’s tractor was used to pull the vehicle free before the tide could reach it and the driver had a lucky escape,” said the beach warden, adding that it was a reminder that vehicles should keep to the hard sand.
