Home-made cakes and bread went on display when local bakers competed in The Great Burnham Bake Off during the town’s Food & Drink Festival on Saturday.

The bakers battled it out for the top spot – with the entries being judged by Rosemary Jackson, Sarah Jane Trask and Charlotte Steele, who said they were impressed with the high quality of entries.

Dusica Roberts won the overall professional champion’s trophy for her stunning chocolate cake, pictured here.

Taylor Tasker was the Young Baker Champion, while Nigel Smith was named the Technical Champion, the Jones family became the Champion Family, and Sue Nicholls won the trophy for Champion Individual.

Sponsor Debbie March from Burnham’s Retreat Caravan Park said: “The Great Burnham Bake Off has become an established part of the local calendar and we are very proud to be the sponsor. It was a great event and thank everyone who entered.”

Organiser Bev Milner Simonds thanked the Retreat for sponsoring the event, and also Burnham Area Flower Club for their support with the competition.
