Apex Park in Highbridge is set to host an evening Bat Walk on Thursday September 10th, giving local families a chance to learn more about the mysterious creatures that come alive after dark.
The event, running from 7.30pm to 9pm, invites visitors to join the park rangers for a guided walk and talk around the park. Organisers say it will offer an introduction to bat ecology and behaviour, along with the chance to listen to bats in flight using specialist detectors.
The 90‑minute session is being run by Discover Wild Somerset Events and is suitable for adults and children aged eight and over. Booking is essential via this page, with places available through the group’s online ticket system.
Rangers say the walk is a great opportunity to explore Apex Park in a different light and learn more about one of Somerset’s most fascinating nocturnal species. Adult tickets are £10 and children £6.50.
