£2,500 raised for Burnham-On-Sea youth centre

Burnham Area Youth (BAY) Centre has been handed a cheque for £2,500 following a successful charity golf day and race night at Brean Leisure Park.

The events were organised jointly by Burnham-On-Sea Round Table, Lions and Rotary Clubs. This is the first time the three local clubs have come together to raise funds in this way.

Di Monaghan of the BAY Centre thanked members of the three clubs together with all the sponsors and members of the public who had supported these events.

“This is a big cash boost for our re-building fund and is a fantastic birthday gift for us in this, our 40th Anniversary Year at our premises in Cassis Close,” she said.

As well as a continuing programme of fund raising, the BAY Centre is waiting anxiously on the outcome of a Lottery Bid of £72,000 which should be decided in the next three weeks.
