Friends of Burnham-On-Sea Beach seek volunteers for beach clean-up

-

Volunteers are being sought to join the Friends of Burnham-On-Sea Beach by taking in a beach clean this Saturday (November 4th).

It will run from 10am-12 mid-day, with volunteers meeting at the entrance to the River Brue by Burnham sailing club on the South Esplanade.

Organiser Mark Hollidge told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “After being blown off course by Storm Brian a couple of weeks ago, the beach clean resumes on the River Brue estuary and beach.”

“A lot of detritus has been washed up lately so we hope for a strong turnout of our regulars plus any ‘new’ people.”

“The weather forecast suggests much more benign conditions so we expect to be good to go.”

“We will supply all necessary equipment but please wear suitable footwear for fairly muddy conditions.”

“Please note that all children must be over 5 years old and accompanied by an adult.”

The Friends of Burnham Beach was started in September 2016 and has undertaken 11 cleans in that time.
