Volunteers are being sought to join the Friends of Burnham-On-Sea Beach’s latest beach clean today (Saturday, February 17th).

It will start at 10.30am, with volunteers meeting at the Apex Park Car Park.

Tanya Cox, Litter Free Coast and Sea Coastal Officer for Burnham, said: “We are introducing a few changes to the format of the event this time.”

“We will be meeting at the Apex Park Car Park and then cleaning up the River Brue banks at the foot of the Apex Park.”

“Equipment will be provided – but volunteers are advised to wear sturdy footwear in anticipation of muddy conditions.”

“Newcomers and children over 5 years old are welcomed but must be supervised at all times.”

She added: “We will also be hosting a social event at Burnham Sailing Club on Thursday 22nd February from 7-9pm. We are hoping to establish a Committee to support the future development of the group and look forward to getting to know the volunteers better.”
