Police have launched enquiries after the body of a man was found washed up on Burnham-On-Sea beach on Sunday evening (April 19th).
Emergency services — including Police, ambulance crews, Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards and the RNLI — were called to the beach near the jetty at around 7.30pm after several members of the public reported the tragic discovery.

A Police spokesperson told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police are making enquiries to identify a man whose remains were found washed up on the beach at Burnham-On-Sea at about 7.30pm on Sunday 19th April.”
“Members of the public made the tragic discovery and police, ambulance and Coastguard attended. The deceased is believed to have been in the water for less than a month.”
“No identification has been found and the death is currently being treated as unexplained, pending postmortem examination.”
