A body was recovered from the River Parrett during a search involving Burnham-On-Sea RNLI crews, Police and Coastguards on Sunday (April 26th).
Emergency services were called out after a woman was reported missing earlier in the day, prompting a co-ordinated search across the area.
A Police spokesperson told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “On Sunday (26th April), a body was recovered from the water in the River Parrett, near Bridgwater, during enquiries to locate a woman who had been reported missing earlier in the day.”

“While formal identification has not yet been completed, the woman’s family have been informed by officers. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”
Police added that her death is currently being treated as non‑suspicious.
It is the second body found in two weekends, although there is no indication that they are connected. The previous sad discovery was made on Burnham-On-Sea beach on Sunday April 19th, as reported here, when a man’s body was found washed up near the jetty.
