Burnham and Highbridge Town Band is striking up a Bavarian-style night at a sell-out Oktoberfest at Cheddar Ales Brewery tonight (Saturday, September 26th), with a second fundraiser already lined up in Biddisham next weekend.
The band is due on stage at Cheddar Ales, Winchester Farm, Cheddar, BS27 3RU, from 6pm until late as part of the brewery’s Oktoberfest celebrations.
A spokesperson said the evenings are always popular with local audiences.
“These are always great fun and there will be some audience thigh-slapping and tambourine-shaking!”
The band then heads to Biddisham Parish Hall, BS26 2RD, on Saturday 3rd October for an Oktoberfest-themed fundraiser in aid of the hall.
That event starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15 and include a bratwurst sausage. Guests are asked to bring their own beer.
Tickets for the Biddisham night are available by emailing stephenreed2010@hotmail.co.uk.
Burnham and Highbridge Town Band, which has been entertaining audiences across the area for more than 80 years, raises its own funds through concerts and community appearances. New members are welcomed at the band’s weekly Wednesday practices, with full details on www.burnhambrassband.org.
