A packed evening of comedy, magic and live entertainment is promised in Brent Knoll this Saturday (15th August) when three internationally‑travelled performers arrive at the Parish Hall for a special charity night in aid of Parkinson’s and Motor Neurone Disease.
Organisers say tickets are still available for the show, which will feature compere Phil Reid opening the evening.
Phil, well known to many in Brent Knoll, returns for his second appearance and will be showcasing his comedy and ventriloquism after years performing alongside some of the UK’s best‑known comedians.
He will be followed by TV magician Danny Lee Grew, whose career has taken him around the world after leaving his former NHS role as a clinical support officer.
Danny began practising magic on colleagues and patients before turning professional, and now performs on television, cruise ships, theatres, holiday resorts and major corporate events.
His audiences have included David Beckham, Pink, Chris Hemsworth, Stormzy and James Corden. In 2024 he was named Stage Magician of the Year by the British Ring of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, and in 2025 he received the Theo Speaker Cup.
Headlining the night will be Welsh comedian Dave Arnold, a regular on some of the world’s most prestigious cruise ships. His lively, upbeat style blends modern humour, storytelling and visual comedy, with organisers promising tall tales, big laughs and the occasional groan from one of the UK comedy scene’s best‑kept secrets.
A fully stocked bar and fresh pizza will be available throughout the evening, with music from DJ Daz adding to the atmosphere. All profits from the event will go to Parkinson’s and Motor Neurone Disease charities.
